Appy Weather app has received a new update for Windows Phone. The new version is 1.2.1.2. The update brings optimizations to the app. According to developer, the update reduces the memory usage update and also reduces the resolution for the lockscreen’s background.

Optimisations have been made to the background agent to significantly reduce the possibility of it hitting memory constraints if the live tile and lock screen are both on.
To achieve this, the picture quality of the lock screen background has been reduced; this will be most noticeable on a 1080p phone. At this moment, I consider achieving reliability to be of the highest priority. But I will continue to investigate ways to increase picture quality without compromising on reliability for a future update.
